9inthman.com is a personal site run by me, Daniel Camp. I don’t sell your information, I don’t run ads, and I collect only what the site needs to work. This page explains what that is.
Who Runs This Site
This site is run by Daniel Camp in Alabama. It is hosted on WordPress.com, a service of Automattic Inc. You can reach me about anything on this page at 9IX@9inthman.com.
What I Collect and Why
Comments
When you leave a comment, the site collects the name, email address, and optional website you enter, the comment itself, and your IP address and browser information. The name and comment are shown publicly. Your email address is never shown.
Comments may be checked by an automated spam filter. Your email address may also be used to show your Gravatar profile picture if you have one. Comments and their details are kept so I can moderate them and recognize returning commenters.
Newsletter and Follows
If you subscribe to new posts by email, your email address is stored by WordPress.com so new posts can be sent to you. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can stop at any time.
Email You Send Me
If you write to me, I keep your message so I can reply and follow up. I won’t publish your name, your story, or anything you send me without your permission.
Site Statistics
WordPress.com records basic visit statistics, such as which pages are read and roughly where visitors come from. I see these only as totals. They help me know which posts are useful.
Cookies
The site uses cookies to make things work, such as remembering your name and email in the comment form if you choose that option, and to count visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though you may need to re-enter your details when you comment.
Embedded Content
Some posts include videos or other content from sites like YouTube. That content behaves as if you visited the other site directly, and that site may collect information about you under its own privacy policy.
Who Else Sees Your Information
I don’t sell, rent, or trade anyone’s information. The only outside company that handles it is the one that runs the site, WordPress.com (Automattic), under its own privacy policy. I would only share information beyond that if the law required it.
Your Choices
- Unsubscribe from email updates using the link at the bottom of any email.
- Ask me to edit or delete a comment you left.
- Ask what information I have from you, or ask me to delete it.
For any of these, email 9IX@9inthman.com. I’ll answer as soon as I can.
Children
This site is written for adults and isn’t directed at children under 13. I don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to This Policy
If anything here changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
